Stations

Station One

Station One is home to Medic 1. Its primary coverage area is the western part of DeSoto Parish and is located at 1204 Gum Street, Logansport.  It has been at its current location since June 1, 2006.

 

 

Station Three

This station serves the northern part of DeSoto Parish and is located at 1460 Hwy. 171 in Stonewall.

Central Station

11113 Hwy. 171 aka 231 EMS Circle - over 9400 square feet - 6 bays, administrative & business offices, Board Room, quarters for 8 to 10 - expected completion - Nov. 2011.

Station Two

Station Two is home to Medic 2 and Medic 4. Station Two also serves as Central Station for DPEMS. It's primary coverage area consists of the central and southern half of DeSoto Parish. Station Two is located at 208 Gibbs Street, Mansfield, Louisiana. It has been at the current location since December of 2004.

Frontline Units

Medic 2

2011 International placed into service in 2010.  It runs out of Station 2 in Mansfield.

 


 

Car 11

2010 Ford Expedition

Administrator's vehicle put into service August 23, 2010.

 

Medic 1

Chevy 4500 - Was placed into service in December 2009 replacing the "old Medic 1" - our first medic unit that was wrecked on the 4th of July, 2009.

Medic 3

Truck 3

2007 Chevy 4500 - Was placed into service in September 2007. Currently stationed at Station 3 in Stonewall.

Medic 4

Truck 4

2008 Chevy 4500 - Was placed into service in July 4, 2008. Currently stationed at Station 2 in Mansfield.

Disaster Trailer

MCI 1

2006 Cargo Trailer - Placed into service in July 2006. Currently stationed at Station 2 in Mansfield.

Reserve

Truck 5

2003 Ford F350 - Was placed into service in April 2004. Currently stationed at Station 1 in Logansport.

Rescue 5

2011 Ford F-250

Strike Rescue Team truck used to transport crew and rescue equipment to scenes was put into service in May, 2010. 

 

 
New Medic 4

2012 International replacing a Chevy 4500. It will be placed into service at Central Station in Nov., 2011.  It has a touch screen controlling all systems. 

 

 

Reserve Truck

Truck 2 Reserve

2006 Chevy 4500 - Placed into service on July 6, 2006. Has the honor of being the first medic unit with the Star of Life paint scheme. Currently stationed at Station 2 in Mansfield.
 

 

Reserve Truck

Truck 4 Reserve

2001 Chevy 2500 - Was placed into service as a reserve truck in late September 2001. It became a frontline unit in March 2004 as Medic 4. It saw action during the Hurricane Katrina and Rita Rescue/Recovery Operations. It served as a frontline unit until July 4, 2008 when it was replaced by the new Truck 4. It is currently a reserve truck stationed in Logansport.

 

Mule UTV's

2 Mules were donated by British Petroleum and EOG Resources in 2010 - with trailers and patient skid units being donated by Shell Oil & Encana.   One is located at  Station 2 in Mansfield, and the other is at Station 3 in Stonewall for use in patient transport from difficult-to-access locations, such as pipeline and rig sites.

 

 

Retired Units

Truck 1

2001 Chevy 2500 - Was placed into service on September 2, 2001 at 0030 hrs as Medic 1. It has the honors of being the first DeSoto EMS medic unit. During its career it served as a frontline unit until April 2004 when it was replaced by truck 5. It then became a reserve unit and saw action in the Hurricane Katrina and Rita Rescue and Recovery Operations. Truck 1 career ended on July 4, 2008 on Hwy 84 in Logansport when a Dodge truck pulled in front of the unit totaling the medic unit.

Truck 2

2001 Chevy 2500 - Was put into service on September 10, 2001 as Medic 2. It served as a frontline unit until July 6, 2006 when it was replaced by a new Truck 2. It was used as a reserve unit. Then in the spring of 2007 the box was sent to be remounted on a new chasis to become the new Medic 3.

Truck 3

2001 Chevy 2500 - Was placed into service in late September 2001 as a reserve truck. On January 15, 2002 it was stationed at Stonewall and became Medic 3. It served as frontline unit until September 2007 when it was replaced by the new truck 3.  Reserve 3 was donated to the Sabine Ambulance Service District - July, 2011.
